♦ ️ Mangal Pandey ♦ ️ 

■ Born: 19 July 1827
■ The first martyr of the battle of 1857

Mangal Pandey was an Indian soldier. He played an important role in the events of the 19th Indian Revolution.

He was a sepoy in the 8th Bengal Native Infantry (BNI) of the British East India Company. British history of the time considered him a traitor or a rebel but modern Indians consider him a hero.

1984 In 19, the Government of India issued a postage stamp in his memory.

Mangal Pandey was sentenced to death on April 16 but was sentenced ten days earlier.

Hundreds of salutes to Mangal Pandey, the lion's sharer of the Indian independence movement, on his birth anniversary.
